Begonia - Denver Lace
The Begonia Denver Lace, 'Begonia rex hybrids', a Great American Cities ™ Begonias, are grown for their colorful textured leaves. The Denver Lace has green colored leaves with purple and white markings. Very attractive! The Rex Begonias are kings of the Begonia World, that's why they are called Rex because that in Latin means king. These type of begonias display wildly varied leaves streaked, bordered, spotted, and splotched by many colors. They also flower, but usually the flowers are overshadowed by the striking foliage. The growth habit of Rex begonias is mounding and compact in nature. Hanging baskets suit the plant's requirement for good air circulation. Lower light and cooler temperatures will really bring out the color in Rex begonias leaves and high light will cause all colors to fade. The soil must be well drained. For zones 9-11, this plant can also be a perennial. ... additional information
