Coral Bells - Strawberry Swirls

The Heuchera 'Strawberry Swirl, Heuchera x 'Strawberry Swirl', also known as Coral Bells, Alumroot and Crimson Bells, have ruffled green leaves overlaid with silver veining. They are a lovely background for the gorgeous strawberry pink flowers. What sets this plant off from the others is the very tall (30") stalks of coral-pink blooms which give off a mild fruit aroma. Strawberry Swirls will attract both Hummingbirds and bees. They look especially good around the edge of borders, woodland edges, rock gardens, perennial borders, or in mass to form an attractive ground cover. ... find out more

 

Hollyhock - Nigra The Nigra Hollyhock, 'Alcea rosea', has large single, very dark maroon to almost black flowers. (The darkest flower in this family). The Hollyhock family is made up of a rather large group that exhibits tall stature (4-6') and is biennial in nature. Although they are short lived, they reseed themselves. The large blooms of 'Chater's Nigra Hollyhock' flower in the summer months. Alcea is a wonderful plant near the back of the border, working great along walls or fences. They are best planted in full sun in a well-drained area.
