Daisy - Midas Gold
The Daisy Midas Gold, 'Argyranthemum frutescens', is a fantastic release from Proven Selections. The Midas Gold exhibits fast growth and is wonderfully floriferous grower for baskets, borders, and landscapes. Midas Gold has a compact, mounding habit. The yellow colored blooms have a pretty bronze center. Daisy's require a sunny spot with fertile, well-drained soil and should be kept well watered in the summer. Daisy's may be used as a cut flower and they are excellent in window boxes, pots, and rock gardens. The daisy is attractive to bees, butterflies and/or birds, plus they are resistant to deer. These daisys are winter hardy to USDA Zones 10-11 and they are grown as an annual in other cooler climatic zones. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage additional bloom. Petunia - Tidal Wave Hot Pink The Tidal Wave Hot Pink Petunia, 'Petunia x hybrida hedgiflora', has a growth habit based on how closely the plants are spaced in the garden. Place the plants close together and they will get taller. When spaced a minimum of 12 inches apart, it forms a dense, mounded hedge from 16 to 22 inches tall. Grown in restricted space with support, it will grow an extra 2 to 3 feet upward, like a vine. When given plenty of space, this petunia makes a floriferous groundcover spreading 2. 5 to 3 feet. The Tidal Wave petunia was a University of Georgia 1999 Gold Medal Winner. Tidal Wave petunias require no pinching or pruning. The low maintenance qualities and excellent weather tolerance make them well-suited for landscapes and large containers. |
