The Geranium Springtime, Geranium phaeum 'Springtime' (PP13,785), has purple colored flowers that blooms all summer long. Springtime can be planted in full sun to partial shade. For best results, plant in a dry to average moisture area and make sure the site is well-drained. Springtime has vareigated foliage in the spring and tolerates dry shade better than most geraniums. The Geranium family is well known for its stunning fall colors that include reds, oranges, and yellows. It is a superb plant for cottage gardens, container growing, borders or informal borders in mass plantings. There is an attaction to bees and butterflies and it is very disease and deer resistant. Stokes Aster - Honeysong Purple The Aster Honeysong Purple, 'Stokesia laevis', has leathery, strap-like leaves that form a clump at the base with huge true royal purple daisy-like flowers with a hint of red at the end of the stem. The powdery blue flowers bloom from July until frost have a plant height of 14” and a plant spread of 18-24”. ‘Honeysong Purple’ Aster will do best in a full sun area with morning shade and well-drained soil. It should not stay wet while in dormancy. Great for summer color in beds, borders or containers it produces excellent cut flowers. To increase bloom time, deadhead after the first initial flowering.
