Hosta - August Moon
The Hosta ‘August Moon’, Hosta sieboldiana, has wide, heart-shaped gold colored foliage with slightly rippled margins, making it very striking. The white to pale lavender flowers bloom from July to August, however, Hosta’s are not known only for their flowers. With a plant height of 24” and a spread of 24-36”, Hosta’s provide bright color in shade with wonderful foliage. Hosta ‘Wide Brim’ needs to be planted in a full shade area in any moist, well-drained area. This low care perennial is ideal for shady positions, tubs and patio pots, and one of the most popular for landscape uses. A great choice for any beginner gardener. ... more information
Scabiosa - Pink Passion The Scabiosa 'Pink Passion', provides a nonstop display of pink Pincushion flowers bloom above compact foliage. Pink Passions are the nearest thing to a perpetually-blooming hardy perennial we've seen. It is best to plant Scabiosa in full sun, with well-drained soil and should be watered regularly throughout the warmer months to increase its overall performance. Deadheading after the first bloom will encourage repeat bloom time. ‘Pink Passion' is great for attracting butterflies and hummingbirds and does excellent in rock gardens. It will do excellent for front-of-the-border areas, with Coreopsis ‘Moonbeam', Dianthus 'Bath's Pink', in mass plantings or as cut flowers. Also an excellant plant for pots, baskets and window boxes. |
