Hosta - Francis Williams
The Hosta ‘Francis Williams’, Hosta sieboldiana, is a large Hosta with wide yellow margins that surround blue-green centers, making it very striking. The white flowers bloom from July to August, however, Hosta’s are not known only for their flowers. With a plant height of 24” and a spread of 48-60”, Hosta’s provide bright color in shade with wonderful foliage. Hosta ‘Francis Williams’ needs to be planted in a full shade area in any moist, well-drained area. Hosta ‘Frances Williams’ is perhaps the most widely grown of the big Hostas. Bleeding Heart - Aurora The Bleeding Heart Aurora, 'Dicentra ‘Aurora’, is a fast-growing perennial with creamy white, heart-shaped flowers. The blooms look wonderful against its grayish foliage. Dicentra ‘Aurora’ has a plant height of 14” and a width of 20”. Dicentra should be planted in full sun but will tolerate morning shade. It is heat tolerant and needs moist soil. Do not let it dry out. Dicentra will bloom from May to September and is a major attractor to butterflies. ‘Aurora’ makes excellent cut flowers, in mass with groundcovers, or in potted containers. Being an old fashioned plant, it is a must in any landscape. |
