Hosta - Halcyon
Hosta 'Halcyon', Hosta tardiana, is a vigorous grower and is known as one of the best blue Hosta’s. The classic blue spear shaped foliage makes it very striking. The white to pale lavender flowers bloom from July to August, however, Hosta’s are not known only for their flowers. With a plant height of 24” and a spread of 32-36”, Hosta’s provide bright color in shade with wonderful foliage. Hosta ‘Halcyon’ needs to be planted in a full shade area in any moist, well-drained area. ‘Halcyon’ was the 1997 Award of Merit (AGM) winner, one can see why. It is also extremely slug-resistant due to its thick leaves. This low care perennial is ideal for shady positions, tubs and patio pots, and one of the most popular for landscape uses. ... more information
