Lilac - Asessippi
Asessippi Lilac, Syringa x hyacinthiflora 'Asessippi', has single, pale lilac-lavender, fragrant blossoms that are produced prolifically in May on a well-shaped, full-to-the-base plant; it does not get leggy. This early blooming lilac is excellent as a cut flower. This plant is attractive to bees, butterflies and/or birds and requires average water needs; water regularly; do not overwater. Asessippi Lilac prefers full sun, good drainage and air circulation. It tolerates light shade, but best bloom is in full sun. It can be used in many situations, including shrub borders, informal hedges and perennial borders. Burning Bush-Bursting Heart The Bursting Heart Burning bush, Euonymus americana 'Bursting Heart', is a unique shrub. In the spring and summer this shrub quietly takes the back seat to other seasonal color. However, in early fall, it draws curious looks with its unique display of fruit. Bumpy, raspberry-red pods hang on the ends of stems and split open to reveal small, smooth, red seeds. If you'll plant this shrub with some room to grow, it will delight you with its fullness and profusion of fall "hearts.
