Phlox - Atropurpurea
The Phlox Atropurpurea, 'Phlox subulata', is an ideal ground cover with masses of tiny wine-red flowers and a thick mat of semi-evergreen foliage. Blooming from April to May, it has a plant height of 4-6” and a spread of 12-18”. It is a definite addition to any perennial garden. ‘Atropurpurea needs to be planted in a full sun area in well-drained soil. Yucca - Bright Edge The Adam's Needle, 'Yucca filamentosa ‘Bright Edge’, is a clump forming perennial with tufts of dark green leaves edged in golden yellow. In the summer time, the foliage is even more golden. The creamy, bell-shaped, white flowers hover over the foliage. The red coloration on the long blades highlight the flowering crown. ‘Bright Edge’ has a plant height of 18” and a spread of 20”. It should be planted in full sun and in a well-drained area. ‘Bright Edge’ looks great in a subject garden or in containers and is also a butterfly attractor. |
