Sweet Bell Peppers - Sun Bell

The Sweet Bell Pepper Sun Bell, 'Capsicum annuum', is a very sweet, four-lobed pepper that grows 4 to 5 inches long and 4 inches wide and weighs 4 to 6 ounces. This beautiful pepper starts out a beautiful golden yellow before becoming bright at full maturity. The large fruits are exceptionally sweet at all stages of growth. They are excellent for salads, stuffing, and gourmet dishes. Transplant outside in the spring 3 to 4 weeks after last frost date. Note: To get a jump on the season transplant outside, use a walls-of-water or some black plastic to maintain and increase temperatures. Pinch off early flowers to encourage plant growth. Plant in average garden soil with sufficient organic matter. Peppers use quite a bit of water but prefer to be watered deeply and not too often. Blossom pruning will improve fruit size. Pinch off about 50% of the flowers. ... additional info

Fuchsia - Autumnale The Fuchsia Autumnale, 'Fuchsia hybrid', is a early blooming Fuschia with exceptional uniformity and compact growth. The red sepal/purple corolla flowers perch on a splendid trailing Fuschsia distinquished by pure gold leaves flushed with purple and orange. This Proven Selections plant blooms all summer long. They are great plants for greenhouses, window boxes, baskets, homes, and flower beds. Fuchsias should be planted in warm, sheltered spots in well-drained soil. The flowers, which are produced during the summer and early fall, are droopy and come in many colors. Fuschia is one of the Hummingbirds favorite flowers. Fuchsias do not like to dry out. Keep the soil moist to the touch from spring through autumn. In many parts of the country (and especially if planted in a hanging pot) the fuchsia will require daily watering. For zones 8-11, this plant can also be a perennial.
